Abstract
This part specifies the mechanical dimensions and electroacoustic characteristics of condenser microphones used as laboratory standards, enabling the measurement of sound pressure and achieving the highest measurement accuracy for sound pressure. This specification ensures simple and easy primary calibration using the reciprocity method.
This part defines a classification system based on the mechanical dimensions and electroacoustic characteristics of laboratory-standard condenser microphones, in order to standardize calibration methods and facilitate comparisons between laboratories, including the calibration of the same microphone in different laboratories and the interchangeability of microphones under a given calibration system.
