GB/T 15972.54-2021 Specifications for optical fibre test methods—Part 54:Measurement methods and test procedures for environmental characteristics—Gamma irradiation
Abstract
This part of GB/T 15972 specifies the measurement methods and test procedures for evaluating the performance of optical fibers and optical cables in a given gamma radiation environment. This part is applicable to determining the radiation-induced attenuation values of A1 and A2 multimode optical fibers and B-type single-mode optical fibers exposed to gamma radiation, whether they are cabled or uncabled. This part is not applicable to the measurement of non-light-transmitting components in optical cables. If the optical cable materials deteriorate when exposed to radiation, further research and alternative measurement methods are required.
