GB/T 17832-2021 Silver jewellery alloys—Determination of silver—Volumetric (potentiometric) method using potassium bromide
Abstract
This document describes the method of determining the silver content in silver alloy jewelry using the potentiometric titration method with potassium bromide.
This document is applicable to silver alloy jewelry, handicrafts, and their materials with a silver content of 800‰ to 999‰. These silver alloys may contain copper, zinc, cadmium, and palladium. Except for palladium, which should be precipitated and separated before starting the titration, the presence of the other elements will not interfere with this determination method.
This method is designated by GB 11887 as the arbitration method for determining the silver content in silver alloy jewelry.
