This document specifies the requirements for test dummies weighing more than or equal to 25 kg used in wheelchair testing, the characteristics of the loading pads supporting various parts of the test dummy, the calculation formulas for the overall center of gravity of the test dummy, the masses of the various body parts making up the test dummy, and the positions of the pivot axes connecting these body parts. It also provides informative tables of the test dummy's mass and center of gravity calculated using these formulas, along with corresponding examples of test dummies (with masses increasing by 25 kg increments up to 300 kg). This document applies to manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs used in stability testing, static load strength testing, impact strength testing, and fatigue strength testing as loading test dummies. This document does not consider the mass distribution of individuals with limb atrophy or amputees. It is expected that improvements to the test dummies will enable comparable results in static stability testing, performance testing, and fatigue testing for manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs (including electric mobility scooters). Note: During testing, the center of gravity of the test dummy is generally the same as that of a person of corresponding mass sitting in a wheelchair, or the same as that of a person of up to 100 kg standing in a standing wheelchair.
