GB/T 24128-2018 Plastics—Assessment of the effectiveness of fungistatic compounds in plastics formulations
Abstract
This standard specifies a test method for determining the antifungal effect of antifungal agents used to protect sensitive components such as plasticizers and stabilizers in plastic formulations. This method can verify whether a certain plastic product can effectively prevent the invasion of mold.
The antifungal effect is evaluated by visual inspection.
This standard applies to films or sheets made of plastic that are no more than 10 mm thick. In addition, porous materials such as foamed plastics can also be tested using this method when they are made into the above-mentioned forms.
The antifungal agent should have certain solubility in the matrix.
Unlike ISO 846, this standard does not spray a suspension of mold spores on the surface of the sample, but covers it with a layer of agar containing spores. This will better disperse the spores and provide the water necessary for spore germination on the originally hydrophobic plastic surface.
