Abstract
This standard specifies the rules that should be followed when designing and reviewing EDIFACT messages and message components.
This standard applies to the design of messages that comply with the EDIFACT application-level syntax rules of versions 1, 2, 3, and 4. Attribute annotations and repeated data elements only apply to the design of messages that comply with the syntax rules of version 4.
