Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the grinding fineness of color paints, varnishes, and printing inks using a suitable fineness gauge [with a scale of micrometers (μm)].
This standard is applicable to all types of liquid color paints and varnishes and the determination of their fineness, but it is not applicable to the determination of the fineness of products containing flake pigments (such as glass flakes, mica iron oxide, and flake zinc powder).
