GB 17799.8-2023 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)—Generic standards—Part 8:Emission standard for professional equipment in commercial and light-industrial locations

Scope

This document, as a general EMC emission standard, is only applicable to cases where no dedicated product or product category EMC emission standards have been published. The emission requirements specified in this document apply to electrical and electronic equipment used in commercial and light industrial environments (see 3.1.3). This document applies to equipment that meets the following usage restrictions: -- defined as professional equipment (see 3.1.13); -- subject to professional installation and maintenance (see 3.1.14 and Chapter 6); -- not intended for use in residential areas (see 3.1.16). For electrical and electronic equipment used in commercial and light industrial environments that do not meet these restrictions, IEC 61000-63 applies. The purpose of this document is to ensure that all equipment used in residential, commercial, and light industrial environments is covered by IEC 61000-63 or this document. In case of discrepancies, the requirements of IEC 61000-63 shall apply. This document specifies emission requirements for a frequency range of 0 Hz to 400 GHz. This document specifies requirements for conducted and radiated emission tests for frequencies up to 400 GHz, with the aim of providing adequate protection for receiving equipment used in the electromagnetic environments specified above. The tests recommended in this document do not cover all interference phenomena, but only those related to equipment operating in the environments specified in this document. The emission requirements of this document do not apply to intentional emissions and their harmonics from radio transmitters defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
