Scope

This document specifies the selection guidelines and requirements for seamless casings, tubing, and downhole tools used in CO2 gas injection wells and gas extraction wells in high-pressure and high-CO2 environments (with CO2 concentrations exceeding 10% and partial pressures greater than 1 MPa). Production wells are not within the scope of this document. This document only considers the compatibility of materials with the environment. The content of this document includes: -- Corrosion evaluation; -- Material selection; -- Corrosion control. This document is applicable to high-CO2 wells, and many requirements are also applicable to low-CO2 wells. Material selection is influenced by multiple factors and their synergistic effects, and it is advisable to be carried out by material engineers or corrosion engineers.
