Scope

This document provides guidance for establishing good practices in land management to prevent or minimize land degradation and desertification. It does not include the management of coastal wetlands.
This document identifies a framework for identifying good practices in land management based on an assessment of the drivers of land degradation and the risks associated with current and past practices. It also provides guidance on monitoring and reporting the implementation of good practices.
This document is intended for use by private and public sector organizations responsible for land management and allows an organization to share information on the implementation of good practices.
