Scope
This calibration standard specifies the general metrological characteristics, calibration methods, and requirements for the instruments and equipment used in the calibration of optical attenuators for telecommunications. It is applicable to the initial calibration, subsequent calibration, and in-service inspection of optical attenuators for telecommunications. The requirements for metrological characteristics in the type evaluation of optical attenuators can be referenced in accordance with this standard. The calibration of other instruments with optical attenuation functions can also be carried out in accordance with this standard.
