Scope
This standard specifies the classification of breeding units for mink (Mustela vison), foxes (Arctic fox Alopex lagopus; silver fox Vulpes vulpes fulva; red fox Vulpes vulpes), and raccoon fur animals, as well as requirements for personnel, breeding stock, and breeding source bases, construction and management of farms, health and epidemic prevention, feces, sewage, and waste disposal, euthanasia and skin processing, transportation, environmental protection, file and information management, technical services, and emergency response.
This standard applies to artificial breeding and skin processing activities for mink, foxes, raccoons, and their hybrid offspring conducted for the purpose of producing and utilizing fur. It also applies to all existing, expanded, renovated, and newly built mink, fox, and raccoon breeding units across the country.
