Scope

This procedure applies to the initial verification, subsequent verification, and in-use inspection of X-ray and gamma radiation thermoluminescent dosemeters (hereinafter referred to as dosemeters) used in personal and environmental dose monitoring. The applicable radiation doses are personal dose equivalent HP(10), HP(0.07), and ambient dose equivalent H*(10), with a range of 0.01 mSv to 10 Sv, and a photon energy range of 30 keV to 1.5 MeV.
This procedure does not apply to the verification of X-ray and gamma radiation thermoluminescent dose measurement systems used for personal and environmental monitoring.
This procedure does not apply to devices used for personal monitoring equipped with limb dosemeters, nor to the verification of devices used to measure beta radiation, neutron radiation, and cosmic ray radiation.
