Scope

This regulation stipulates the general approach to monitoring and forecasting pine caterpillars, as well as the technical requirements for disaster monitoring and forecasting. This regulation applies to pine caterpillars, including the Dendrolimus punctatus (Walker) pine caterpillar, the D.superans (Butler) larch caterpillar, the D.tabulaeformis Tsai et Liu pine caterpillar, the D.spectabilis Butler spruce caterpillar, the D.houi Lajonquiére Yunnan pine caterpillar, and the D.kikuchii Matsumura Simao pine caterpillar. It covers disaster monitoring and investigation, as well as pest forecasting and prediction for these species.
