Scope

This standard specifies the analysis method for the radioactive activity ratio of 226Ra/228Ra in geological water samples, in which 226Ra is measured by the gas emission method, and 228Ra is measured by its daughter element 228Ac on a low-background beta device.
This standard is applicable to the analysis of the radioactive activity ratio of 226Ra/228Ra in surface water, groundwater, uranium mine pit water, and uranium factory wastewater. After appropriate treatment, environmental sewage, seawater, and solid samples can also be used for reference.
Measurement range: all ratios with a 226Ra specific activity >3.6×10-3Bq/L and a 228Ra specific activity >3.5×10-3Bq/L.
