The surface is red-yellow or red in color. The corolla is slender and long, with five lobes at the tip, each of which is narrow and strip-shaped, measuring 5–8 mm in length; there are five stamens, and the anthers are aggregated into a tubular shape, which is yellowish-white; the stigma is long and cylindrical, with a slightly forked tip. The texture is soft. It has a faint fragrance and a slightly bitter taste.
