This standard applies to the production of Ningdan 54 corn hybrid seeds, and the suitable regions are the Yonghe Irrigation Area in Ningxia and similar ecological zones for spring sowing. Terms and definitions - Single cross: The first-generation hybrid seeds of two inbred lines. - Basic seed: Seeds directly bred by breeders or produced in accordance with the basic seed production procedures and meeting the specified standards. - Parental seed: Seeds propagated from basic seed and meeting the specified standards, used for the production of hybrid seeds for field planting. - Commercial hybrid seed: Hybrid seeds directly used for field production. 4. Origin and characteristics of the variety - Ningdan 54 is a corn single-cross hybrid bred by the Crop Research Institute of Ningxia Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center of Ningxia Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences from the cross of SBY1 and LXH1012. It was approved by the Ningxia Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2021 (Ning Audit Yum 20210001). - The seedlings have an elliptical first leaf, purple leaf sheaths, dark green leaves, a semi-compact plant type, green glumes, red anthers, red filaments on the female inflorescence, and long, cylindrical ear shapes with red ear axes and yellow, semi-dentoate seeds. 5.
