Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of the hazard assessment of chemicals, the assessment procedures, and the scope of the assessment of chemicals. This standard applies to chemical production units and import units for conducting hazard assessments of the chemicals they produce or import. The chemicals evaluated by this standard are those that belong to substances. This standard does not apply to radioactive chemicals, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, veterinary drugs, military chemicals, and polymers. However, when polymers contain an unpolymerized monomer in the amount specified by this standard, the monomer needs to be evaluated.
