Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and packaging, transportation, and storage requirements for film-grade polyester chips (PET).
This standard applies to film-grade base polyester chips produced primarily from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol, and to film-grade masterbatch polyester chips with additives such as silica or other inorganic salts. Other masterbatch polyester chips with additives may be used as a reference.
This standard does not apply to polyester chips for sheet materials.
