Scope
This part of GB/T 30069 specifies the test method for determining the stress and strain characteristics of metal plates under high strain rate conditions using an elastic rod system.
Based on experiments and numerical calculations, such as crash finite element simulation (FEA), it is shown that strain rates within the range of 10-3 s-1 to 103 s-1 are closely related to vehicle crash accidents.
To accurately evaluate the crashworthiness of vehicles, it is particularly important to obtain reliable stress and strain characteristics of metal materials under strain rates higher than 10-3 s-1.
This part is applicable to tensile test methods with strain rates higher than 102 s-1.
