GB/T 18663.5-2022 Mechanical structures for electronic equipment—Tests for metric and inch system—Part 5:Seismic tests for chassis, subracks and plug-in units
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the seismic test requirements for cabinets, plug-in boxes, and their plug-ins defined in the IEC 60297 and IEC 60917 series. According to the IEC 60297 and IEC 60917 series, it only applies, in whole or in part, to the mechanical structures of cabinets, plug-in boxes, and their plug-ins for electronic equipment, and does not apply to electronic components, equipment, or systems within the mechanical structures.
Note: Plug-in boxes can be components of cabinets (commonly referred to in the industry as plug-in frames or chassis).
The purpose of this document is to ensure the physical integrity of cabinets, plug-in boxes, and plug-ins defined in IEC 60297 and IEC 60917, so that they can maintain certain usage and maintenance functions during and after an earthquake. It aims to provide users with sufficient confidence when selecting equipment to meet the above requirements.
Due to the variety of sizes, weights, and mechanical complexities of cabinets, plug-in boxes, and plug-ins defined in the IEC 60297 and IEC 60917 series, it is not possible to specify a minimum seismic test requirement for all quality classes. Therefore, this document specifies the overall quality class. However, the quality distribution within cabinets and plug-in boxes is considered a "specific application" and is defined here as "intended use".
Single-axis or three-axis acceleration during seismic testing is optional.
