Scope

This section introduces the statistical procedures for analyzing breakdown time data obtained from multiple electrical insulation systems or independent samples representing insulation system models under constant electrical stress (or under long-term step-by-step electrical stress for breakdown voltage), including numerical examples.
This section assumes that electrical factors are the dominant aging factors. It is well known that there are many important aging factors, and for more details, please refer to GB/Z 23756.1—2009.
Except for being used as diagnostic parameters for other long-term influencing factors, this section does not apply data obtained from short-term electrical breakdown tests. When using short-term breakdown data as diagnostic parameters for non-electrical influencing factors, reference should be made to other appropriate national standards introduced in Section 2.
The purpose of this section is to guide the development of system testing procedures and provide suggestions on issues that need to be considered when formulating evaluation criteria for the electrical life of electrical equipment insulation systems.
GB/Z 23756.1 introduces background information on electrical life, proposes test procedures in the case where electrical factors are the main influencing factors of aging, and proposes statistical methods when electrical aging test data follow a normal (Gaussian) distribution.
This section proposes statistical methods for test data that do not follow a normal (Gaussian) distribution but follow an extreme value distribution.
