Scope
This standard specifies the Basic Interoperable Data Model (BIDM). The purpose of this BIDM is to define a minimum set of asset information to support interoperability and enable asset exchange. Since this BIDM describes a minimum set, other information useful for interoperability, including data model information of libraries, is not included in this BIDM. Additionally, this BIDM does not include communication protocols and related standards.
This standard is applicable to organizations engaged in the development, implementation, and management of software asset libraries.
