Scope

This document describes the artificial climate aging test method for plastics used in severely polluted outdoor environments.
This document is not applicable to the life span prediction of plastics used in severely polluted outdoor environments.
This document describes two different exposure methods, and the test method is selected according to the type of plastic products evaluated. Method A is a short-time spraying of strong acidic solution (pH 1.5), which is suitable for damage forms mainly caused by surface degradation. Method B is a longer-time spraying of weaker acidic solution (pH 3.5), which is suitable for cases where the acid solution can penetrate deeply into the products, such as geotextiles and related products.
This document does not involve the impact of special chemicals (such as pesticides).
