Scope
This document specifies the ultrasonic testing method and evaluation of the results for alloy bearing shells of in-service steam turbine generators. This document is applicable to the testing of bearing shells with a thickness of not less than 1 mm during installation and maintenance. This document is not applicable to the testing of areas within the probe radius from the edges of the bearing shells, oil holes, and oil tanks; if there are dovetail grooves on the bearing shell joint surface, the testing along the edges of the dovetail grooves is not applicable.
