This procedure is applicable to the initial verification, subsequent verification, and in-use inspection of total alpha and total beta measurement instruments for gas-flow proportional counters.
This procedure is not applicable to low-background alpha and beta measurement instruments with solid scintillation or semiconductor-type detectors, or to the verification of liquid scintillation counters.
