Scope: This document specifies the selection and management of donor cows for embryo transplantation in Ningxia, including the selection of frozen semen, superovulation of donor cows, artificial insemination of donor cows, embryo collection and retrieval, and the technical requirements for embryo transplantation. This document applies to standardized operations for embryo production and transplantation technology promotion and application in Ningxia. Main technical content: 3. Terms and definitions: The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Embryo transplantation: Selecting a recipient cow with physiological conditions similar to those of the donor cow, and transplanting the embryo into the uterine horn of the recipient cow by non-surgical methods to allow the embryo to continue developing. 4. Selection and management of donor cows 4.1 Selection of donor cows 4.1.1 Donor cows shall comply with the standards for Holstein cows in GB/T 3157, have complete pedigree files, score above "good" in linear evaluation of body type, be robust in constitution, and free from genetic defects. 4.1.2 When adult cows are used as donors, they shall be selected from those participating in dairy cow performance measurement (DHI) with excellent production performance, or from those with breeding value assessed by genetic evaluation (EBV). 4.1.3 When young cows are used as donors, they shall be selected from those with breeding value assessed by genome-wide testing (GEBV), or from those whose parents have excellent production performance. 4.2 Feeding and management of donor cows 4.2.1 The feeding environment of donor cows shall be kept comfortable and stable, and various environmental and immunization stress responses shall be avoided. 4.2.2 Ensure a scientific, reasonable, and balanced diet.
