Scope

This document establishes a mechanism for measuring the core algorithm capabilities of biometric recognition comparison algorithms running on ISO/IEC 7816 integrated circuit cards. This document specifically includes:
——The implementation of a mechanism for on-card biometric comparison testing;
——The specification of accuracy measurement procedures for on-card biometric comparison implementations running on object-based test-dedicated sample cards;
——The specification of measurement procedures for various operation durations;
——The provision of an example of matching the ISO/IEC 197942:2005 compact card detail point template.
The following content is not within the scope of this document:
——Communication channel protection procedures, including the encryption protection of biometric templates;
——Procedures for protecting the integrity of samples or templates using digital signatures;
——Card and reader certification;
——The selection or use of transmission protocols (such as contactless);
——Profiles of specific data exchange standards;
——Reader evaluation procedures, including performance, compliance, and interoperability;
——Card durability or endurance evaluation procedures;
——Template generation on the card (e.g., extracting detail points from images);
——Template update or adaptation;
——GB/T 16649.4—2010 and GB/T 16649.11—2019 compliance testing;
——Testing of devices that do not comply with ISO/IEC 7816, including all on-card system devices.
This document is applicable to on-card biometric recognition comparison algorithm testing, and to the measurement of comparison accuracy and various operation durations.
