Main technical content: **Site preparation**: In mountainous areas, terraces or leveled plots are constructed along contour lines. The entire garden is deeply plowed and leveled, and 1m×1m×1m planting pits or planting trenches are dug. When digging pits or trenches, the topsoil and subsoil are stored separately. First, a 10cm–15cm layer of crushed crop straw or weeds is laid at the bottom of the pit (trench), followed by 5g–10g of urea or ammonium nitrate. When the subsoil reaches half the depth of the pit, the topsoil and base fertilizer are thoroughly mixed and compacted. **Variety and seedling selection**: The rootstock should be selected from common late-maturing walnuts in North China. Varieties should be approved by provincial-level authorities, such as 'Xiangling', 'Dai Xiang', 'Qiangtelle', and 'Hill'. Pollination varieties should be properly matched. Hermaphrodite varieties and female-first varieties should be cross-pollinated with a ratio of 8–10:1. The configuration method can be row-spacing or scattered planting. **Garden establishment**: A mechanized management model with wide rows and dense planting is recommended. - **Plain fertile land**: Planting spacing: 5.0m–6.0m×6.0m–8.0m; - **Intercropping with grain fields**: Planting spacing: 6.0m–8.0m×4.0m–6.0m; - **Mountainous orchards**: Planting spacing: 5.0m–6.0m×5.0m–7.0m; - **Border of terraces**: Planting spacing: 5.0m–6.0m; - **Roadside planting**: Planting spacing: 6.0m–8.0m. **Shaping**: Pruning should be carried out from mid-November to mid-March, and completed before bud sprouting in late March.
