Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, instruments and equipment, and materials for the natural sedimentation test of slurry in coal preparation plants; the sampling and preparation of slurry samples; the sedimentation velocity distribution test; and the compilation of test results.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the natural sedimentation characteristics of slurry from bituminous coal and non-bituminous coal. The determination of lignite can also be carried out as a reference for implementation.
