Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for the chemical composition, mechanical and physical properties of sintered metal injection molding materials.
This standard is applicable to the selection of materials by design and materials engineers when preparing parts using the metal injection molding (MIM) process.
This standard is not applicable to structural parts produced by other powder metallurgy processes, such as pressing-sintering and powder forging techniques.
