Scope
This standard specifies the basic requirements and operating procedures for determining the roughness (smoothness) of paper and paperboard using the air leakage method.
This standard is applicable to most types of paper and paperboard, but it is not suitable for embossed paper, wrinkled paper, or paper that cannot be flattened under test conditions, as well as highly breathable paper that allows a large amount of airflow to pass through the paper sheets.
