Scope

This standard specifies three test methods for measuring the fiber length in yarns, including the method of weighing the middle section of the bunched fibers (Method A), the method of manual measurement of single fibers (Method B), and the roller analyzer method (Method C). This standard is applicable to the determination of fiber length in pure-spun yarns. Method A and Method B are suitable for pure chemical fiber yarns, while Method C is suitable for pure cotton yarns. For blended yarns, reference can be made to Method A and Method B.
