Scope

This standard specifies the tolerances of the major and minor diameters of tapping screws and the limit sizes of these diameters. Tapping screws produced according to these tolerances are used for machining pipe threads of the G series and Rp series according to ISO 228-1 and ISO 7-1. The internal threads machined with these tapping screws are usually referred to as "nuts".
