Scope

This document provides guidance on the use of ISO 13482, aiming to promote the design of personal assistant robots in accordance with ISO 13482, and to provide additional guidance for users with limited experience in risk assessment and risk reduction. This document explains and guides the new terms and safety requirements introduced in ISO 13482, allowing personal assistant robots, including mobile servant robots, body-assisted robots, and manned robots, to achieve close human-machine interaction and contact in applications. This document considers the application of ISO 13482 to all service robots and includes relevant examples.
