GB/T 5990-2006 Refractory materials—Determination of thermal conductivity—Hot-wire method
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the thermal conductivity measurement of refractory materials using the hot wire method. 1.2 The cross-hot wire method is suitable for measuring refractory materials with a temperature not exceeding 1,250°C, a thermal conductivity less than 1.5 W/(m·K), and a heat diffusion rate not exceeding 10-6 m2/s. 1.3 The parallel hot wire method is suitable for measuring refractory materials with a temperature not exceeding 1,250°C and a thermal conductivity less than 25 W/(m·K). 1.4 Within the ranges specified in 1.2 and 1.3, this standard is also applicable to powdered and granular materials. Note 1: For the thermal conductivity of unburned bricks and non-shaped refractory precast products, due to the influence of residual water in the sample after hardening or solidification, the sample must be pretreated. The details of the pretreatment method, degree, and the insulation time of the sample during measurement are beyond the scope of this standard and should be agreed upon by the relevant parties. Note 2: Measuring non-homogeneous materials is generally difficult, especially for materials containing fibers. The measurement of such materials using this method should also be agreed upon by the relevant parties.
