Scope

Scope: This document establishes the procedures for the composting and application of biomass in tea gardens, and stipulates the operational instructions for soil evaluation, composting technology, and fertilization of biomass in tea gardens, and describes traceability methods such as recordkeeping and file management. This document is applicable to the biomass composting and application in tea gardens in Shandong Province. Main Technical Content: 3. Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this standard: 3.1 Lignin and Cellulose Degrading Bacteria: Bacteria or fungi capable of degrading lignin and cellulose. 4. Soil Evaluation 4.1 Regularly monitor soil fertility levels and conduct inspections every two years. Based on the inspection results, improve the soil quality in a targeted manner. 4.2 Adopt reasonable farming methods and apply biomass compost to enhance the soil fertility and water storage capacity in tea gardens. 5. Composting Technology 5.1 Collect biomass such as tree branches and crop straws, and shred them with a machine. The length of the shredded material should be controlled within 10 cm, and the proportion of material exceeding 10 cm should not exceed 10%. 5.2 Composting Methods 5.2.1 The raw material ratio is 1,000 kg of biomass, 30 kg of rice bran, 5 kg of urea, 5 kg of lignin and cellulose degrading bacteria, and 2 kg of brown sugar. 5.2.2 Treat the shredded biomass by spreading it on the ground with a thickness of no more than 40 cm and spraying it with water until it is fully saturated. The water content should generally be controlled at around 65% (with water visible between the fingers when squeezing). 5.2.3 Mix the rice bran, urea, lignin and cellulose degrading bacteria, and brown sugar thoroughly and spread them on the biomass. Mix well. 5.2.4 Pile up the mixed biomass into a mountain-shaped heap about 2 m high and 3 m in diameter, ensuring good air permeability. Cover it with plas
