Scope

Scope: This document specifies the industrial environment, variety selection, pre-sowing preparation, sowing, field management, pest and disease control, harvesting, and production archives for high-yield cultivation of sorghum specifically for vinegar production. This document is applicable to members of the Qingxu Vinegar Industry Association. Main technical content: 4. Site environment: The environmental conditions of the production area shall comply with the requirements of GB 3095 and NY/T 5010. 5. Variety selection: Select high-yield, high-quality, and resistant sorghum varieties for vinegar production that have been approved by the Crop Variety Appraisal Committee. In Qingxu County, varieties such as "Jinza 21" and "Jinza 22" are recommended. 6. Pre-sowing preparation: Select plots with flat terrain, deep soil layers, loose texture, and high fertility. Sorghum dislikes monocropping, and it is recommended to precede with legume crops. Deep tillage should be carried out before sowing. 7. Sowing: - Seed quality: The seed quality shall meet the requirements of Class II or higher in GB 4404.1. - Seed treatment: Use coated sorghum seeds. - Sowing period: The sowing period should be from early to mid-May. When the average temperature of the 5cm soil layer stabilizes above 12°C and the soil moisture content reaches 60%-70% of field capacity, sowing can proceed. - Sowing method: Use precision fertilizer sowing machines for mechanical strip sowing, with a row spacing of 40cm-60cm and a sowing depth of 3cm-4cm, and a sowing rate of 0.4kg/667m2 to 0.75kg/667m2. - Complete sowing, fertilization, soil covering, and compacting in one go. - For fields with insufficient base fertilization or poor soil conditions, urea can be applied at a rate of 10kg-15kg/667m2. - Chemical herbicide application shall comply with the requirements of NY/T 1997. - Spray herbicides during the pre-shooting or 3-5 leaf stages.
