Scope

This standard specifies the test method for the scratch resistance of transparent plastic films. This standard is applicable to the determination of the scratch resistance and wear resistance of various transparent plastic films, including biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), biaxially oriented polyamide (BOPA), cast polypropylene (CPP), biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET), polyethylene (PE), coated films, and matte films. The observation method (Method A) specified in this standard is applicable to cases without a reference sample, while the gloss difference ratio method (Method B) and the haze difference method (Method C) are applicable to cases with a reference sample.
