Scope

This document specifies the reverberation chamber method for determining the sound power level of fans. It is only applicable under standardized laboratory conditions, as on-site testing increases uncertainty, so it is not suitable for on-site testing.
Also used in conjunction with this document is ISO 5136, which covers the pipe method, and ISO 10302-1, which is applicable to small fans.
