Scope

This standard specifies the information and interface requirements for remote condition monitoring of insulated containers, so that the central monitoring system adopted by carriers or terminals can connect to and exchange information with remote communication devices produced by different manufacturers and configured by other carriers or terminals. The data recording formats and message protocols covered by this standard are applicable to all existing data transmission technologies, as well as future technologies compatible with ISO standards. Chapter 4 of this standard specifies the performance requirements for remote monitoring systems of insulated containers, and Chapter 5 specifies the compatibility requirements of the system. Unless otherwise specified, all remote monitoring systems of insulated containers shall comply with the provisions of all parts of this standard.
