Scope

This standard specifies the performance requirements, test methods, and packaging and labeling information for orthodontic anchorage pins used in orthodontic treatment.
This standard applies to orthodontic anchorage pins made of metal, which feature a threaded design for connecting bone tissue in oral orthodontic treatment.
Note: Orthodontic anchorage pins are used to provide temporary intraoral bone anchorage during orthodontic treatment and will be removed after the treatment is completed. Similar to dental implants, the threaded portion of orthodontic anchorage pins is screwed into the maxillofacial bone structure.
