Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, baseline survey, renovation plan, reconstruction and renovation, quality improvement, and file management for the old Navel Orange Orchard in Langshan Mountain. This document applies to the renovation of the old Navel Orange Orchard in Langshan Mountain; Main technical content: 3 Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this standard. 3.1 Langshan Navel Orange Langshan Navel Orange refers to early- and medium-maturity navel oranges grown in Xinning County within the range of 110°18′E to 110°28′E and 26°15′N to 26°50′N. The main varieties include Langfeng Navel Orange, Newhall Navel Orange, Calacalla Red Flesh Navel Orange, and Fuben Navel Orange. The soluble solids content should be ≥11.5%. These navel oranges are distinguished from those of other production areas by their characteristics such as orange-red color, smooth skin, rich flavor, and good storage quality. 3.2 Old Orchard An orchard with a tree age of over 30 years, characterized by aging trees, degrading varieties, and severely declining yields and quality, with low economic benefits. 4 Baseline Survey Before renovation, a baseline survey should be conducted on the old orchard, including but not limited to the variety, tree age, yield, quality, economic benefits, planting spacing, soil composition, pest and disease occurrence, and management practices. 5 Renovation Plan 5.1 Reconstruction and Renovation For orchards with tree ages over 30 years, weak tree vigor, degraded varieties, or those that do not meet market demand, or those with an average annual yield of less than 1,000 kg per mu in the past three years, demolish and rebuild the old orchard, and select excellent new varieties to establish a standardized orchard. 5.2 Quality Improvement For orchards with a planting spacing of ≤1.5 m and a row spacing of ≤3.0 m, density modification can be applied; for orchards with overly tall crowns or dens
