Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general principles, inspection items, inspection requirements, inspection methods, and judgment rules for the regular inspection of polyethylene pipeline welding equipment used for gas applications. This standard applies to the performance inspection of polyethylene pipeline welding equipment in service, including electric fusion welding machines (limited to voltage-controlled types), fully automatic thermal fusion welding machines, and semi-automatic thermal fusion welding machines. The inspection of other thermal fusion and electric fusion welding equipment used for plastic pipeline connections can be carried out in accordance with this standard.
