Terminology and Definitions: The following terms and definitions apply to this document: 3.1 Auxiliary branches: Branches located between the central trunk, main branches, and lateral branches. 3.2 Carved buds: A technique used before walnut bud sprouting, where incisions are made above the buds on the main trunk or vigorous long branches to trap nutrients and water below the incisions, promoting bud sprouting and growth. 4. Tree Structure 4.1 Central trunk: Walnut trees with a height of 7.0–8.0 m and a central trunk height of 1.5–1.8 m, cultivating a single central trunk. 4.2 Main branches: Three layers of main branches, cultivating 7–8 branches. The first layer has 3–4 main branches, the second layer has 2–3 branches, and the third layer has 1–2 branches. 4.3 Inter-layer spacing: The spacing between first and second layers of main branches should be 1.8–2.0 m, and the spacing between second and third layers should be 1.5–1.8 m. 4.4 Lateral branches: Each main branch is equipped with 3–4 lateral branches, with fruiting branches evenly distributed on both sides of the main branches. 5.
