Scope
This standard specifies the general requirements for ultrasonic testing of stainless steel rods, plates, and forgings used in pressurized water reactor nuclear fuel assemblies and related components, including instruments and probes, reference blocks, testing procedures, result evaluation and recording, and inspection reports.
This standard applies to ultrasonic testing of stainless steel rods, plates, and forgings used in pressurized water reactor nuclear fuel assemblies and related components. The diameter of stainless steel rods tested is 9 mm to 70 mm, the thickness of stainless steel plates tested is 9 mm to 50 mm, and the thickness of stainless steel forgings tested is less than or equal to 400 mm. Metal rods, plates, and forgings of other specifications or materials can also be used for reference.
