Scope
This document summarizes the current status of flow numerical modeling, existing guidelines, and past benchmarking experiences in the validation and verification of numerical models. Based on the work done, this document identifies important technologies for flow simulation based on complex terrain in wind energy applications, as well as existing unresolved issues, including suggestions for further validation through benchmarking.
This document is applicable to the calibration of power characteristic test sites for wind turbines in wind farms.
