Scope

This standard specifies a general method for converting sulfur compounds into sulfates and determining them by visual turbidity measurement. This standard is applicable to the determination of the total amount of inorganic sulfur compounds in organic solvents and organic sulfur compounds that can react with potassium hydroxide ethanol solution to form potassium xanthate. The detection range is 0.4 μg/mL to 4 μg/mL (calculated as SO4).
