Scope

This document describes a method for determining short-chain chlorinated paraffins in consumer products using gas chromatography with a negative chemical ionization source mass spectrometry. This document is applicable to the determination of short-chain chlorinated paraffins with a chlorine atom number greater than or equal to 5 in consumer products (except for electronic and electrical products, toys, and textiles) containing the following materials: -- Plastics (including polyvinyl chloride and polyurethane); -- Coating materials; -- Liquids and similar viscous materials (including inks, paints, and adhesives). Other materials in consumer products may be determined according to this document after being verified.
