GB/T 36228-2018 Non-destructive testing—Guide for plannar flaw height sizing by ultrasonic testing
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the ultrasonic detection technology and its principles for measuring the height of surface-type defects in ferritic and austenitic workpieces. This standard recommends using time-of-flight (TOF) or time-of-flight difference (TOFD) to quantify the height of surface-type defects. All the quantitative techniques for measuring the height of surface-type defects described in this standard have their optimal application ranges, as detailed in Appendix A. This standard recommends conducting quantitative measurements of the height of surface-type defects in accordance with the evaluation process described in Appendix B. This standard is not applicable to quantifying the size of defects using signal amplitude methods, does not involve methods for quantifying the length of surface-type defects, and does not provide acceptance criteria for surface-type defects.
